A cleverly handcrafted Pewter Glass Bottom Stein Mug of over 55 years in age. Its glass base definitely gives clear view when in use and surely makes for a collectible and uniquely styled Stein Mug to own.
This stein was a part of the Rainier Mug Club and was previously owned, which is inscribed on its side along with the date:
MUG CLUB -
The Stein Mug in not affiliated with the Kirk Pewter Co. as many others are. It was made by the Hanle & Debler Co. (1933-1971) with Adolph Hanle having left Kirk Pewter Co. and forming in 1933. Adolph Hanle eventually rejoined the Kirk family in 1971, when his company became a division (partnership) of the Kirk Corporation. After which such stein mugs were stamped with the Kirk Pewter Co. name and possibly shorter and not of same sizing.
Product Quantity: Only 1 item in stock.
Condition: Very good for age, has some minor marks on the pewter, but this has not been polish which would alleviate them, making possibly as once sold new. The glass bottom is without blemish and overall the stein mug shows limited use. The added inscribed name on the mugs one side contributes to verifying its date, but quite possibly may have been acquired years before. Being a handcrafted malleable pewter mug reworking may be possible, if wanting to remove the name. A thought only, since this may add to its collectability.
Size: approx. H: 4.75 x Dia: 4-1/8 at base (3.25 at top opening & 2.75mid-way) x W: 5.0 from handle to lip at widest point. The slightly elevated glass plate at base is 3.0 diameter.
