An Idaho Red Cedar Centerpiece Bowl set upon 4 turned Legs. The work and creative style sets well to its character which continues to show from the care given to it for nearly half a century.
The land it comes from is rich in diversity of Firs, Cedars, as too Pines, that give way from their mountain hideaways to land born from the ash of pacific coastal volcanoes. Areas now rippled in fields of wheat and other grains.
On the bottom base is inscribed: Idaho Red Cedar Burl Bowl, Made by Fred Kradden, St. Maries, Idaho 1975.
added note, this volcanic ash having been deposited over a great time harbored what once were said to be worms up to 20 feet in length. Most since having disappeared due to the tilling and cultivating of a variety of plants since the 1800s in this richly unique region of land.
